We did a couple things different at last week's Startup Social in Durham. I gave a rare, one-time presentation about the new ExitEvent
(No more microphones at our events. Promise!) AND we brought in a photographer to take some photos of the crowd. We did this for a couple reasons—first, because those who couldn't make it might like to know who was there (and everyone likes to have their photo taken, right?).
But the even bigger reason is that we need better photos to go with our editorial content. We want fun, engaging snaps of people in our community that we can use with the stories we write (not the cheesy or overly serious suited headshots). ExitEvent is all about the people who make up the startup community, and so this is an important initiative as we improve the quality of our content and develop a wider audience. Don't worry, we won't be snapping photos at every event, but when we do, it'll always be in a laid back, unobtrusive way.
Enjoy the photos below and stay tuned for a link to RSVP for our October 27th Social at Crank Arm Brewing in downtown Raleigh (We're changing up the process with the new site). Happy Fall!
